This is the error I get at the very end

Warning: Failed opening '/usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/cacti/index.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/psa/apache/lib/php') in Unknown on line 0

my php.ini include_path is

include_path = ".:/php/includes"

Do you have all of your cacti paths setup correctly? In your case, you should have following:

Apache Web Root: /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs
Cacti Web Root: /cacti

Double check those settings and see what you get.

If you can't even get to the installation screen, changing your include_path may help. I suggest something like:

Code: Select all

include_path = ".:/php/includes:/usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/cacti"
... Then restart Apache and see if that makes a difference.

Had the same problem here ... it was a permissions problem.
I know it's the wrong workaround, but chmod'ed everything (including dirs and subdirs) to 644 did the trick ...

Rax, I guess the latest tarball installs the files with the wrong permissions... can you doublecheck ? :-)

You are right :(

It seems as though I chmod 640'd them at one point, and didn't consider that when I tared everything up. Just for the record, I would make the files 644 by default.

If I remember, I will fix this and upload a fixed version tonight.

Thanks for pointing this out though.

Try re-downloading 0.6.8a here:

http://www.raxnet.net/downloads/cacti-0.6.8a.tar.gz

I fixed the permissions on all of the files, so it should work now.
