Loosing Interfaces on Cisco Catalyst 4000

I have a Catalyst 4006 and I have 2 versions of cacti. One on XP and one on RH 7.3. Both work well but I have noticed one oddity. My XP box picks up all 83 interfaces, but my RedHat 7.3 box only picks up 66 interfaces. The lists match perfectly to interface number 66. Then the Linux box just stops? When I attempt to "Refresh Interfaces" or remove and re-add the catalyst to the Linux box, I get a message, after 120 sec of waiting, that "the interface already exists". Then when I look at the gathered interfaces, there are only 66. Not the full 83. Any ideas what might be happening, or where I can start to look for the problem?
