lost power and shutdown

Post by Jimmy »

Hello all

I am using cacti 8.6b on a suse 9.2 system, MySQL 4.0.21, php
Everything was working well for the pass 3 months
I was monitoring routers, swithches and servers via snmp2
Then my system lost power and shutdown.

Once I started the system, cacti started but it only monitors half the devices

Out of 10 cisco 2950 swithches it only monitor one
I could only monitor 1 linux server and no windows servers
But I could still monitor all my cisco routers
Thanks
Jimmy

Make sure that the poller is not running and run the following query on the cacti database:

Code: Select all

delete from poller_output;
After you do that, rebuild the poller cache. Run, from the web interface, System -> Utilities -> Clear Poller Cache. Contrary to it's name, it will rebuild it and show you the new cache.

Let me know the results.

Please make sure that you are running Cacti 0.8.6c. The prior version (0.8.6b) had an issue that caused the poller to crash when it detected a device reboot. This is likely your issue.
