Hi There, I am running cacti Version 0.8.6c on debian 'testing' and trying to add our router, which is a linux-based router:
#snmpwalk -v 2c -c notmycomuunityname xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
SNMPv2-MIB::sysDescr.0 = STRING: Linux networker 2.4.26 #48 Thu Jun 10 17:23:51 NZST 2004 i586
SNMPv2-MIB::sysObjectID.0 = OID: UCD-SNMP-MIB::linux
...
I get a resonce when running the snmpwalk from the command line.. But i get a SNMP Error:
+ Running data query [1].
+ Found type = '3' [snmp query].
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.
+ Executing SNMP walk for list of indexes @ '.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1'
+ No SNMP data returned
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
when trying to add a device.
Is there anything i should post to help resolve the issues?
Thanks,
Simon

There is a patch that will probably help you with this problem. Please check out the Official patches at http://www.cacti.net/download_patches.php.
