Show data w/o graphing it?

Is there a way to do a GPRINT with a data source value, but not have it graphed? I'd like to just print certain values, like max quota size or max connections, and not have to graph them. These things won't change much over time and are much larger in size than the rest of the graphed values, throwing off the graph a lot as it compensates to show those much larger upper limits.

Tried poking around different premade graph templates and the forums to no avail. Thanks for any help.

Yes, make sure they are some of the first times, and don't or set there color to the background (white).

Took me a bit to get what you said... but basically put them at the top so they're drawn over by other items, and set their color to white (or the background color of the graph), correct? Hadn't thought of that, thanks for the tip!

Hmm, this still throws off my graph. For instance, if the max quota size is 8G, but they're only using about 400M, it'll scale up to show that 8G (even if I turn its color off so it doesn't graph), then the resulting graph of the 400M is a small little line at the bottom.

Can I make it forget about the 8G upper limit completely in the graph, but still print it at the bottom some how?

I've tried most every combination of colors/graph item types/etc that I think would be reasonable with no luck. Either it won't print the value, or it'll print and scale the graph up to it. No in between.

Setting it to the data source, no color, and gprint with a message won't scale the graph, but it'll just print the value of the next item on the graph. So that's a no go too.

After even more playing, I've come to the conclusion it can't be done.

Is there any way to edit the RRD file by hand? It looks like it should work, but Cacti isn't quite setting it up right.

You can, alternately, uncheck autoscale, and check rigid boundries, and then put a reasonable upper limit in, on the graph template edit page. Won't scale any more, but if your data is predictable, that should be ok.

You -should- be able to just have a gprint, without the graph line item, but I'm guessing that's not working for you.
