question about CDEFs / Y-Legend

Post by solefald »

I have convinced Cacti to read some data from .rrd files greated by Mailgraph buy
creating a custom CDEF to show message rate per minute, but Y-Axis on the graph is still showing numbers in messages per second rates. How do i tell Cacti to multuply those numbers by 60 too?

Also, David Schweikert is using some complicated way to calculate the total number of messages per day/week/month/year. I dont really care for the exact number since we see about 30Million messages a day going through our mail servers and 10K more or 10K less will not make any difference, so i figured i can take AVERAGE msgs/min and multiply by 1440 (min in a day) or
AVERAGE msgs/sec and multiply by 86400 (seconds in a day) to get total number of messages.

Now, how do i create a CDEF that will change that 86400 number to
86400x7
86400x31
86400x365
accordingly and apply to weekly/monthly/yearly graphs ?
