hi all!
please could you explain me how do cacti manage to convert a counter value (ex: Outbound traffic: "The total number of octets transmitted out of the
interface, including framing characters." I mean a data which is only increasing in time.) Into a value in bytes (or bits) per seconds without any visible use of mathematical functions?
Thanks!
I don't understand ! (data conversions)

Take a look at the RRDtool documentation at http://www.rrdtool.org. Cacti uses RRDTool to store statistical data and generate the graphs, it will answer your questions.
