Showing incoming/outgoing bytes for eth0

Post by phriday613 »

How is this done?? I woulld like to show something like this on the hosted computer..
http://www.bigspring.k12.pa.us/cacti/gr ... &rraid=all
showing the incoming/outgoing bytes for the NIC..

so far, ive created 2 data sources, net_in and net_out, both using "get SNMP network data"

i think itmight have to do with my SNMP.. dont know how it works, but its not showing the plots!

Are you sure that that SNMP queries bring correct values to Cacti? You can check this by clicking on "Edit data" link on the right side of your Data Source name. On the top of the page you should see a line similar to this:
/usr/bin/rrdtool update /var/www/html/cacti/rra/mydevice_out.rrd --template mydevice N:3108780810
The important part is at the end of the line after "N:" - you can see a value here which is delivered to Cacti. If you see "N:U" instead then something is wrong with your SNMP query.
