Graph switch performance interface

Post by sabey »

Hi all,

I setup a cacti to monitor the performance of switch port interface.

Those questions

1. How can I setup Cacti to have a ifIndex that start at 0 instead of 1. The SNMP mib return 16 ports, for 1 to 16 but a want 0 to 15

2. How can a put the index in the data source name (DS) at the time of data sources creations ?

Thanks

Answers:

1. The switch is returning these values, to have cacti alter them would only serve to confuse people. Unless you are displaying this on the graphs, I wouldn't worry about it, and I would suggest displaying the interface description or alias instead.

2. You will have to alter the template for the interface data sources to include the |query_ifIndex| variable. But because of the "Suggested Values" in the Data Queries for interfaces, you will have to modify those to get the result that you are looking for.
