After a few months of using the new version of CACTI 1.2.27 (we updated from version 1.2.24), we have encountered an issue that is affecting our operations. Below are the configuration details:
- Some of the graphs monitored via SNMP queries defined on Data queries have stopped collecting data.
- In CACTI, we have defined a Data Template with various Output Type IDs for handling different types of data.
Investigating the possible cause, we found in the databases that these incorrect graphs were pointing to a Template ID that no longer existed, as it had been deleted. It seems that this template deletion was not done manually, so:
- Could it be possible that, for some reason, CACTI deleted this entry?
- Could this be due to the new version of CACTI or the update?
- What user-level actions on the web interface could lead to the deletion of this Output Data ID? And what about at the administrator level?
