I am using Cacti 1.2.16, and the number of registered devices is approximately 300.
Some hosts are intermittently marked as down, while others are not. When checking the cacti.log, I see the following entries:
======================
2024-10-02 18:04:49 - SPINE: Poller[1] PID[7097] Device[698] SNMP Ping Timeout
2024-10-02 18:04:49 - SPINE: Poller[1] PID[7097] Device[698] PING Result: ICMP: Ping timed out
2024-10-02 18:04:49 - SPINE: Poller[1] PID[7097] Device[698] SNMP Result: Device did not respond to SNMP
2024-10-02 18:04:49 - SPINE: Poller[1] PID[7097] Device[698] HT[1] NOTE: There are '16' Polling Items for this Device
2024-10-02 18:04:49 - SPINE: Poller[1] PID[7097] Device[698] HT[1] Total Time: 43 Seconds
2024-10-02 18:04:49 - SPINE: Poller[1] PID[7097] Device[698] HT[1] DEBUG: HOST COMPLETE: About to Exit Device Polling ======================
However, the entry stating
ERROR: HOST EVENT: Device is DOWN Message: Device did not respond to SNMP, ICMP: Ping timed out appears inconsistently.
The Cacti setting is Failure Count 2.
Could someone please tell me the name of the database table where data is recorded when a single failure occurs? I want to first check if the information is recorded in the database.
Thank you

Re: Intermediate processing of device down
Thank you.
Apparently the poller process did not complete until the next process and the failure count was not added.

Re: Intermediate processing of device down
these values are updated at the and of poller cycle. Check your log if your poller finish on time:
logs-> select type "stats"
logs-> select type "stats"
Let the Cacti grow!
