Brocade Fibre Channel templates.

Post by royce »

Hi!

I wrote theese templates for monitoring Brocade Fibre Channel switches (and relabled ones).

Graphs included in the package;

Switch-port monitoring
Fan sensors monitoring
Temperature sensors monitoring

If you find errors, please post to this thread.

brocade_interfaces.xml should be in resources/snmp_queries

The other template should be imported from GUI.

Templates exported from Cacti 0.8.6c (with all patches applied)

Regards,
Christofer

found a typo in the "Brocade FC Temp (Sensor 3)" -Datatemplate.

Please edit;

1) Click "Data Templates"

2) Click "Brocade FC Temp (Sensor 3)"

3) Under Custom Data, OID - replace with

.1.3.6.1.4.1.1588.2.1.1.1.1.22.1.4.3

4) Click "save".

Thanks!

I'm quite interested in this templates. Downloaded everything and tried to import (cacti 0.8.6.b with patches applied).
Am receiving
Error: XML: Hash version does not exist.
So import fails. Does anybody know about version conflicts for export/import?

No idea. import worked on my other cacti instance. (0.8.6c)

Try install cacti 0.8.6c on a new location, downgrade to 0.8.6b, and export the templates and reimport it on your working environment.

Hi,

I tried to import this template to my cactiversion, but it does not work. When I click on the save button nothing happens. The website is reloaded, but I don't see that the import worked. When I past the content of the xml-file I get the same result.
Does anybody has any ideas?

I have running cacti-version 0.8.6c. (I think :-)))

Thanks

Christopher,

I updated my cacti to 0.8.6c this morning. Now import works well. I just added all our 10 switches. Graphs are populating. Seems to work alright. But some values are "nan". Don't know why at the moment.
We're using IBM 2109-S16 and 2109-F32 (re-labeled brocades as to my knowledge). I'm not exactly sure, whether the MIB is exactly identical.

A loud and great thanx for your work. Saved me hours of investigation!

You get nan if you're missing that particular sensor in your switch. (different switches got different amount of sensors :) ..

Just edit the graph templates to get rid of the Nan entries..

The real & hard way to solve this issue, is a indexed query that's used in order to index up the sensors.. Quite a job.

Thanks

I think you're version is more equal to 0.8.5a.

Do verify your version. Apply all patches.

Christofer,
the temp and fan sensors are ok for me. I'm worrying about the port statistics (see first image). On the same switch, port 2 reports all values (see second image). Do you have any explanation?

All I can think about is that the counter havnt changed since first poll. Cacti wont tell any values until there are a difference.

Please verify this with snmpwalk.
