Adding new device to cacti - will not write rrd files

Post by eholz1 »

Hello All,

I give up... I have Oracle 9.2 Linux, Cacti-1.2.25, rrdtool-1.8.0
with 500 devices (switches and routers).
All of these devices write data into their respective rrd files.
I added a new device, a router, the device responds, I get snmp data, etc
When I attempt to create a graph for this devie (CPU Usage, interface status, etc)
I get an error saying "cannot create graph, poller may not have run yet", or someting with "root" in it.

I have my cron file running as the cacti user. Runs every minute.
I have the rra folder set as "cacti:apache" for permissions. The other 500 devices are writing rrd files as cacti:cacti. I have tried setting the perms to apache:apache, cacti:dcacti, and even giving all write privs to the rra folder. Non of these write rrd fiels for the added device.

What could be wrong here?
Thanks,

Place the device in debug mode, and check to ensure there are poller items.
Before history, there was a paradise, now dust.
