is mouse over hovering feature can be enable in cacti Graph

Post by kashif »

Hi,
We are using cacti version 1.2.15 and creating lot of graphs in it.

My question is that is it possible to enable mouse-over hovering tip feature We are using Line graph. ( Many modern tools have this feature) that when we just hover the mouse on graph line, (without clicking), it should show the value of the line at that pint as a small hover tip.

Is it possible to enable this functionality in Cacti graphs by using some plugin etc.

Nope. Cacti uses rrdtool which is displaying an actual image, its not a javascript based graph that would allow us to plot individual data points.

We had Tobi introduce a feature in the graphv functionality of RRDtool 1.8, to enable hovering, but to date, the author who had committed to introduce it, has been spending all his time on the MidWinter theme, which is looking quite good now on the develop branch.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
