Cacti graph shows in squares

Hello,

I am currently facing one issue with the Cacti graph showing in square when browsing for data history. Here is the situation,
1. When I try to view the graph for the past 1 week, it shows a good graph

2. When I view the graph for the past 2 weeks or older, the graph starts showing in square

Any suggestions to fix this issue?

Welcome to the world of consolidated data. You would need to change your Data Profiles to retain the Hourly / Daily data for much much longer. This will only work on new graphs, not old (basically recreate them or delete the RRD). What you are going to find is that if you want the finer data for much longer, your RRD files are going to get huge.

Hello cigamit,

Thanks for pointing that out. We have Data Profile modified, which is the root cause of the problem, I believe. We are currently facing 2 problems with our current Data Profile setting,
1. We lost graph visibility after 5 months.
2. History graph is shown as squares.

Below is the setting from our Cacti, would you mind suggesting what the setting might be if we want to keep historical data for let's say 2 years? Also, fix the square shape issue for the whole 2 years' data?

How long data is kept is all based upon the rows. So if you increase the rows for each of those, it will retain it longer (but only for newly created RRDs).
