Brand new install of Server 1.2.24 Fails

Post by wittyb »

Hello all. I'm a rank amateur, but LMGTFY didn't work for me on this one. I think I'm too far up the bleeding edge for a newb.

A while ago, I had an older version of Cacti running on Ubuntu Server 20.04. That worked. Then I made the bonehead move of upgrading that server to 22.04. Broke Cacti, and I didn't have the time to tinker at it. Fast forward about 2 years, and I have new hardware, also running 22.04 Server, so I thought I'd give it another go. I've tried installing via a couple of paths (manual, and bmfmancini's script (AWESOME, BTW!!!), and I end up with the same result:

I get to the web pre-install check, and get a failure for PHP module "intl" Specifically I see "Web - No" And that was after I installed php-intl via apt.

Relevant Details:
Ubuntu Server 22.04
PHP 8.1
MariaDB 10.6
Cacti 1.2.24

I'm guessing the answer is probably to break the install down and go back to 1.2.23, because that seems to work for most, but I thought I'd try here first before I went that way.

Ok, nevermind.

I finished the script install from bmfmancini, and it seems to have bypassed that error. However, I couldn't fix it during the manual install. So, bug report? Not sure. I'm in now. Thanks for clicking!

install php-intl and restart webserver, maybe php-fpm too, if you installed php-fpm
