Script and rrd problem

Post by drywalldude »

Maybee it is just me but it seems as though I have had this problem more than once:

I have a script that produces the following output:
fan1:4856 fan2:3409 temp1:30 temp2:38.5

Everthing goes just fine on fan1 and fan2, but I can't get the info on temp1 or temp2 to to write to the same rrd, am I doing something incorrectly?? These are all data source items writing to the rrd <path_rra>/localhost_fan1_26.rrd
which was automatically set by cacti. I know that I can probably shorten the script effectively making one for temp and one for fan speed so they write individual rrd files, but it seems like you should be able to do it all off the one line. I had a problem simmular to this trying to set up weatherbug.pl :(
