Cacti Graphs Brake Issue and Spine Error
Hi,
Currently i am using Cacti Version - 1.2.18 so i getting some Spine Error like "Spine times out while processing Thread lock".
So i have increased Max Connections to = 5000 In Sql DB, but still having cuts in graphs most of Devices.
We are monitoring 5k Devices and 15k graphs along with it.
How i resolve cacti graph brake issue and Spine Error.
Any Suggestion is Appreciable.

Re: Cacti Graphs Brake Issue and Spine Error
For 6k hosts I would do 2 processes and 20 threads. How amy CPUs and memory does the server have?

You are essentially overloading MySQL and causing the collector to stall.

Re: Cacti Graphs Brake Issue and Spine Error
Hi,
As I checked Configuration In Our CPESERVER we are having Memory 32 GB, Disk is HDD. We are having Multiprocessor. CPU is Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6230R CPU @ 2.10GHz .
Having 8 Core per Socket.
Is it okay? or need to upgrade Cacti Configuration.
Threads Running 50 and process - 8..
Need to change this Threads and process value, having cuts most of devices graphs.
Please help.

Re: Cacti Graphs Brake Issue and Spine Error
Well, I've only been doing this for 20 years. If two by 20 is not finishing, then I would venture to say you are doing something wrong like running scripts instead of SNMP. Any time you start running scripts that take seconds to run, you are headed to failure.
If there are scripts then that collection is better done async.

Re: Cacti Graphs Brake Issue and Spine Error
Hi,
Will async work in cacti 1.2.18?
how to do async?
will server Reboot work?
Any suggestion is helpful.

Re: Cacti Graphs Brake Issue and Spine Error
You can do it via cron, or go full tilt like with the mikrotik plugin. Store the values in a table and then use the script server to get the values from the table. Zero latency.

Re: Cacti Graphs Brake Issue and Spine Error
Sounds like you don't know much about Linux systems administration or development. In that case, I would recommend you hire a consultant to fix this issue for you. There are a few members of the Cacti Group that do the things for hire.
