System Requirement for Linux Server In Cacti

Post by Babai123 »

We are going to use Cacti.
We will have 6000 Devices & 15000 Graphs in it.
What will be the System Requirement for Linux Server ?

Any Suggestion is Appreciable.

Any decent 16 core server with 128GB of memory and SSD/NVMe is suitable. If you want more cores and more memory, pretty cheap these days. Make it HA, dual power supplies, dual nic and boned to two separate access switches, and make sure the memory is ECC. You know, the normal stuff.

Hi,

As I checked Configuration In Our CPESERVER we are having Memory 32 GB, Disk is HDD. We are having Multiprocessor. CPU is Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6230R CPU @ 2.10GHz .
Having 8 Core per Socket.

Is it Okay or we need to upgrade our memory space and all ? Because we are having 5000 Devices and 15000 Graphs in CPESERVER.
Please Suggest.

Any Suggestion Is helpful.

That guy will do fine for such a little install. You should use boost though to conserve I/O bandwidth. This lag will become more apparent with very large RRDfiles. The more disk cache the better in any case. You know, SSD's are so cheap now, why not just add a few in a raid 1?
