upgrading from cacti 0.8.8c to 1.2.22?

Post by liorh007 »

Hello

I wasn't able to find a clear and straight answer searching here
i'm using cacti 0.8.8c and i want to upgrade to the new cacti 1.2.22.

can i upgrade directly to 1.2.22 and it would upgrade the database from the 0.8.8c
OR
i should do it in few mid versions upgrades up to 1.2.22?
if i need to do mid version upgrades then which mid versions and their order.

also i have the weather map plugin , do i need to upgrade to the 0.98a that was made to work with 1.x.x
before or after the upgrade to 1.2.22

thank you
Lior

You can directly upgrade to 1.2.X and it will upgrade the DB. Upgrade weathermap after upgrading Cacti.

Typically though, people that are running something as old as 0.8.8c are also running really old OSes, and you might think about building out a new VM on a newer OS that can carry you far into the future. Then you can install the new cacti, bring your old RRDs and database over, and have it upgrade your data to the latest.
