Multiple "SNMP - Generic OID Template" per cacti system

Post by alexvelitsky »

Hi guys,

I've got 1.2.21 cacti version:

MariaDB [cacti]> select * from version;
+--------+
| cacti |
+--------+
| 1.2.21 |
+--------+
1 row in set (0.031 sec)

MariaDB [cacti]>

and I've got several devices there for monitoring. I already use "SNMP - Generic OID Template" for one device but I couldn't do the same for another device - this option is inactive for another device anymore. Is that a cacti system limitation or I do something wrong?
Thanks!

Regards,
Alex.

Likely doing something wrong. You have to be more specific. Use screen2gif to make an animation. Of what is broken. Keep it short. If the forums won't allow you to upload the animated gif, try logging an issue on GitHub.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?

Oops, sorry. I found option to create "SNMP - Generic OID Template" for multiple devices in the same cacti system. But is there an opportunity to create multiple "SNMP - Generic OID Template" graphs per ONE device? For example, I have to monitor on the same device:

Juniper SRX operating temperature - it's "SNMP - Generic OID Template"
Juniper SRX CPU utilization - it's also "SNMP - Generic OID Template"

is it possible?
Thanks.

No, but it you create a device template with everything that is supported and give it a Juniper name, you can check "test data source" on the graph Template, and if the device doe not return valid data, automation will not create the graph. It's a big time saver.

Hi Andrew,

that's exactly what I needed! It works. I appreciate for that!
