Rediscover port list

Apologies for this potentially noob question... I am using Cacti to monitor FC SAN port I/O on Brocade and Cisco SAN switches. I recently activated some ports that were offline when Cacti was installed but now I cannot "discover" them in Cacti (v1.2.19). I followed a 10+ year old Google hit from Gandalf saying to delete the device's data query and recreate it using "Index Count" but that does not seem to have found my newly onlined ports. Can anyone direct me to something more current. Thanks.
