Setting up custom data query

Post by DMD »

I'm having problems going from having a script that produces the numbers I want, to turning those numbers into a pretty graph, so I have two questions.

First, is it possible to have cacti graph RRD's which are updated by an external source?

Second, what are the exact steps to go from working script to graph with cacti? I'm trying to follow the documentation but it seems like I go in a loop. Maybe I'm missing something but it just isn't clear to me. Here is the output from my script for those who are interested:

Code: Select all

sent:0 received:0 bounced:0 rejected:0 spam:0 virus:0
The script analyzes a local log file and doesn't require any arguments, it just needs to be run.

Any help would be appreciated.
