Hello all. I'm hoping to find some information on how to get more color templates created in Cacti v0.8.8b. My understanding is that this is a fairly old-ish version, and we have some of our clients on newer versions. I doubt upgrading it is an option with my employer due to god knows why, as I've seen the newer UI with other people. The short of what I am trying to do is create a color template I can use on aggregated graphs that all have widly varying colors - think rainbows (red, green blue.) The built in ones are good enough, but I've had complaints that they don't like the whole 'shades of one different color' type of thing. Does this version of Cacti we are running have the option currently to add new ones?
edit: I solved my issue. Lots of fiddling with graph templates and figured out I had to change the colors on the aggregate data items after I already created the graphs, and also bypass my browser cache of all things..what a headache. But if anyone ever wants to know, hit me up

Yea, you just have to find the Color Templates menu pick and then knock yourself out.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?

Re: [solved] Color Templates for Aggregated Graphs?
One new issue I've encountered is I can't seem to get this to appear consistently. Once I click on the item #1, etc. and open in another tab, I will see both boxes (Host/Data Template) set to any, and sometimes it will show the actual data source. I thought it was a browser caching thing, but now I am not so sure after clearing it and not getting to work at all. I'm wondering if its because the graphs I used in the aggregate graph I have to wait to actually exist, or if loading one of the items under the header (min, max, etc) makes it work. I think when I load the page, it somehow thinks it has 'no host.' I'll post a screenshot when I re-create it again, but then again, it may be a bug fixed in a newer version.TheWitness wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 9:28 am Yea, you just have to find the Color Templates menu pick and then knock yourself out.
1. In Graph Management, check multiple graphs then at the bottom right, as an action choose Create Aggregate Graph.
2. Create the aggregate using your desired prefix/graph types, etc. total the type of data you want - for me, totaliong all Outbound and skipping all Inbound.
3. Set the color template to 'Red: light yellow > dark red, 8 colors' and hit continue
4. Set the Host, hit save.
5. Click an Item number - typically the first one, or each 'header' one
6. Both fields will be set to 'Any' and the rest of the page under Graph Items will be blank.
Re-creating it or setting the host first usually does it.
