HI all - I am trying to determine why an Interface I monitor with Cacti seems to report the traffic as flowing in the wrong direction.
Given an edge router - with a hssi interface and two fast ethernet -
The hssi interface has monitors for total bandwidth 95th percentile etc - this is connected to the internet -
The two fast ethernet interfaces are likewise graphed - one interface goes to network a the other to network b
Both ethernet interfaces use the Hssi as thier default gateway to the net -
My problem is that looking at my hssi interface I see a traffic spike listed as outbound - fine -
I look at fastethernet interface A and I see a matching spike of INBOUND traffic -
The fast ethernet interface B has no matching spike -
So I know that the traffic should have been leaving or outbound from fast ethernet A
The HSSI interface shows the traffic as being outbound not in -
Why would the ethernet interface report this as outbound?
Any thoughts appreciated - graphs attached for viewing pleasure
TIA
