Graph not displaying correct utilization

Post by dahenry »

Recently upgrade Cacti and just imported the previous templates that had been configured. It appears that the 64-Bit counters are configured in the data source correctly, but the graph's are not showing correct. Not sure where else to look. Any help would be appreciated.

Cacti Version 1.2.12
Cacti OS unix
NET-SNMP Version NET-SNMP version: 5.7.2
RRDtool Version Configured 1.4.0+
RRDtool Version Found 1.4.8

Re: Graph not displaying correct utilization

judging by that output your using a ALU/Nokia device right ?
7750 ?

I would start by doing a SNMP walk on the OID's and match what traffic value its spitting out
then do a debug on the data source see what cacti is seeing

Also you have a interval of 300 ( 5 Minutes) and the command you are comparing to runs every 3 seconds so you will see more detailed info
rather than getting info every 5 minutes so you will lose some info there

If you want to capture everything move to 1-minute polling

you can also use realtime to compare what timos (assuming this is a ALU/Nokia) is showing and compare what realtime is showing

if you need more help reachout !

Did a debug on the Data Source and everything came back green.

Here are the results of the snmpwalk for that interface:

IF-MIB::ifHCInOctets.1342177443 = Counter64: 13790642998027086
IF-MIB::ifHCOutOctets.1342177443 = Counter64: 1960727379649995

rrdtool info shows:

ds[traffic_in].index = 0
ds[traffic_in].type = "COUNTER"
ds[traffic_in].minimal_heartbeat = 600
ds[traffic_in].min = 0.0000000000e+00
ds[traffic_in].max = NaN
ds[traffic_in].last_ds = "13785729118168238"
ds[traffic_in].value = 1.8877548547e+11
ds[traffic_in].unknown_sec = 0
ds[traffic_out].index = 1
ds[traffic_out].type = "COUNTER"
ds[traffic_out].minimal_heartbeat = 600
ds[traffic_out].min = 0.0000000000e+00
ds[traffic_out].max = NaN
ds[traffic_out].last_ds = "1960287748476594"
ds[traffic_out].value = 1.6749383056e+10
ds[traffic_out].unknown_sec = 0

Here are the graphs for the 2 ports that support that LAG:

Would like to go to 1 minute, but not sure if the server could keep up. I currently have 3 instances of Cacti running on one server which is polling 1198 + 741 + 5371 devices. Also, the 5 minutes polling has been accepted for years.

Thanks for the reply.
