Cacti 1.2.11 Ping & SNMP Monitoring issue - English/German

Post by FiSiGer »

Hallo zusammen,

ERROR: HOST EVENT: Device is DOWN Message: Device responded to SNMP, UDP: Device is Down
Cacti_log_Fehler.png
Cacti_log_Fehler.png (19.24 KiB) Viewed 520 times

Uptime_snmp_ping success.png
Uptime_snmp_ping success.png (7.11 KiB) Viewed 520 times

down.png
down.png (50.24 KiB) Viewed 520 times

verbindung_root_im_system.png
verbindung_root_im_system.png (47.17 KiB) Viewed 510 times

Johannes

Hello guys,

I have a problem with my CentOS 8 Cacti-Server.
It shows me that some identical network devices are "down", but all of this machines running productive. Also Cacti gets all informations from SNMP and Ping correct.

This is the output error that cacti shows:
ERROR: HOST EVENT: Device is DOWN Message: Device responded to SNMP, UDP: Device is Down
Cacti_log_Fehler.png
Cacti_log_Fehler.png (19.24 KiB) Viewed 520 times

All devices are successfully accessible with SNMP and Ping from Cacti:
Uptime_snmp_ping success.png
Uptime_snmp_ping success.png (7.11 KiB) Viewed 520 times

Here is a list with all devices listed as "down":
down.png
down.png (50.24 KiB) Viewed 520 times

The strangest thing is, that the devices are "up", if I connect me with the host machine via ssh:
verbindung_root_im_system.png
verbindung_root_im_system.png (47.17 KiB) Viewed 510 times

After you log out from the host machine all machines are "down" again.

If somebody knows that problem or have an idea for a solution I'm very thankful for your messages.
Thanks for your help.

Kind regards
Johannes

Hey There sounds like some sort of network issue

Can you do a snmpwalk to these devices and a constant ping via the OS ?
at any time do you lose connectivity to the device via network?
