Syslog plugin install

Post by RudyM88 »

Good day gurus,

A n00b here asking for help. I installed Cacti on a Raspberry Pi, and now i want to install the syslog plugin, i have spend the last four hours trying to figure out how to install the plugin with absolutely no success. I was able to install syslog-ng as per the instructions (or so i think) but there is not way i can install the syslog plugin.
All instructions tell me to copy the unzip directory to the plugin folder but i cant find the folder anywhere, and the only plugin folder i ("/usr/share/cacti/site/plugins") when i try to copy the syslog folder into it it will tells me I don't have permissions.

Any help or guldens is greatly appreciated.

These days, the instruction are more biased toward rsyslog:

True understanding begins only when we realize how little we truly understand...

Life is an adventure, let yours begin with Cacti!

Author of dozens of Cacti plugins and customization's. Advocate of LAMP, MariaDB, IBM Spectrum LSF and the world of batch. Creator of IBM Spectrum RTM, author of quite a bit of unpublished work and most of Cacti's bugs.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
