Seeing as how our entire network of servers and domain controllers as well as switches, routeres and firewalls (oh my), are being graphed using cacti, I thought I would create a graph for all of the massive amounts of SPAM, viruses and whatnot going through our mail servers. So I created a script to total all of that information, and then get it into the rrds just fine, but what I would like to do is total those messages up in, lets say, a 24 hour time frame on the daily graph, 1 week total for the weekly graph, and so on. That way I can see what the total number of viruses, SPAMs, and rejections I get in those time blocks.
Would this be possible, and if so, how? Do I need to create some external script to total all of this up, or is there some part of cacti that can create it?

I dont know exactely how to do it but I remembered where Im tracking my bandwidth I remember seeing a total bandwidth. Look at your Graph Template for Interface - Traffic (bytes/sec, Total Bandwidth). It calculates the total by doing COMMENT: Total Out: |sum:auto:current:2:auto|. I also found this page http://www.cacti.net/downloads/docs/html/variables.html which should get you going in the right direction.
Sorry I couldnt be more help but Im still pretty new to cacti.
