LDAP Search Error: Specific DN and Password required

Hello all,

I have cacti 0.8.8f on ubuntu 16.04 which is up and running. I am trying to integrate OpenLDAP as an authentication option with cacti. When i try to login with ldap realm, i get this error: LDAP Search Error: Specific DN and Password required
I have googled the solution but to no avail. can you please help me. thank you in advance.

Here's my configuration, I left LDAP group settings and LDAP specific search settings blank.

Where do i post so that i get the support I am looking for?

I am really disappointed. this is my second post which got no response.

You get the support you pay for... it's a free product with developers who work in their free time and a community who try and support others. You also get better support on a current product rather than one that is years old. 0.8 has longer been out of official support but we still try to help out.

I've never integrated to OpenLDAP nor used 0.8 myself, so I can only tell you that you have to make sure all your context information is correct. Without searching, you have to ensure that the user you are authenticating with is definitely at the organisation unit you've specified.

Failing everything else, put debug statements in and track it down.

LDAP works fine in 0.8.8, you can simply use Google or Duckduckgo and search this site for several of howto's on making it work.
