Hello,
I am trying to graph temperature from SNMP enabled monitoring device - NewMar SPM200
I got the correct OID from doc, and when I run snmpwalk I get the result:
snmpwalk -v2c -c XXXX NNNN 1.3.6.1.4.1.44686.1.3.1
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.44686.1.3.1.0 = INTEGER: 19
I used SNMP - Generic OID template for data source and graph.
In data source info I can see:
snmp_oid ABSOLUTE 600 U U U NaN
and here is data source debug:
/bin/rrdtool create \
/usr/share/cacti/rra/afs-spm_snmp_oid_398.rrd \
--start -900 --step 300 \
DS:snmp_oid:ABSOLUTE:600:U:U \
RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:1:600 \
RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:6:700 \
RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:24:775 \
RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:288:797 \
RRA:MIN:0.5:1:600 \
RRA:MIN:0.5:6:700 \
RRA:MIN:0.5:24:775 \
RRA:MIN:0.5:288:797 \
RRA:MAX:0.5:1:600 \
RRA:MAX:0.5:6:700 \
RRA:MAX:0.5:24:775 \
RRA:MAX:0.5:288:797 \
RRA:LAST:0.5:1:600 \
RRA:LAST:0.5:6:700 \
RRA:LAST:0.5:24:775 \
RRA:LAST:0.5:288:797 \
I tried to set Data Source Value to Absolute, Gauge or Counter but no luck.
To me it looks like cacti is not getting the result I get when I run SNMPWALK, but any suggestion is welcome

When you run a debug/verbose query, what do you see?

I am sorry to say but I am not sure I understand what do you mean.netniV wrote:When you run a debug/verbose query, what do you see?
When I run Data Source Troubleshooter I get all green except last one:
Issues: Data Source returned Bad Results for snmp_oid
in the log file (with log level set to DEBUG) i can see:
2019/07/05 13:40:32 - POLLER: Poller[Main Poller] WARNING: Invalid Response(s), Errors[1] Device[AFS-SPM] Thread[1] DS[AFS-SPM - Temperature] Graphs[AFS-SPM - ]

I am not sure why cacti is not getting same snmp result I get in snmpwalk which is integer: 19

Re: NaN from Generic SNMP template
Thank you for your reply. Now that you explain it, I notice that Associated Data Queries is SNMP - Interface Statistics, but I am not trying to get Interfece stats.camerabob wrote:From the device management window, click the yellow arrow indicated below and let us know the results.
I was using Generic SNMP Device and tried to graph one OID with SNMP - Generic OID Template. Am i missing a data query for generic OID ?
Great collection of templates camerabob - I want to make a template out of this, for NewMar SPM device once I get it working.
Thank you for your support
