cactid segfault (FC3, MySQL 4.1.8)

Post by crimi »

hi,

i've got a problem with cactid on my linux servers. it keeps segfaulting. below the output (gdb / strace):

CACTID: Version 0.8.7 starting
Detaching after fork from child process 21851.
[New Thread -1479668816 (LWP 21853)]

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

the problem is related to the mysql functions. both mysql_num_rows and mysql_store_result result in a segfault.

the mysql libraries arent the problem, every other application that uses them operates without any problems.

is there a solution for this?

figured it out. the source included in the FC3 source rpm is broken. i've downloaded the source from the site (same version), replaced it and rebuilded the cactid rpm. now it works fine.

My fast solution for the segmentation fault in Fedora Core 2

Post by jailsonjan »

Hi,
My server Fedora Core 2 presented an error similar to its with CACTID (segmentation fault) after the compilation.
I made some configurations and none gave certain.
My fast solution to compile in a server Debian machine to see if functioned - it functioned.
A make a copy of "cactid" (/usr/local/cactid/bin/cactid - in Debian) for the Fedora Core 2. In the directory "/usr/lib" in Fedora i make a symbolic link to "/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.7" (#cd /usr/lib #ln -s /lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.7a libcrypto.so.0.9.7 ).
I run the cactid in the directory "/usr/local/cactid/bin/" for test the program.
My servers are running ok.
Good luck, for all.

I will get this one to the author of the RPM ASAP. It's the wrong version of CACTID.

Which Cactid RPM are you downloading that is causing the problems? I didn't even see any Fedora Core 3 RPM's for Cactid on the site. Perhaps it is time to build some...
