I was running cacti 0.8.6c and I had also installed cacti 0.6.5. By mistake I have started the old version of cacti and started the installation on the database of the new version. Now the new cacti 0.8.6c down not operating and replies with:
Error
You are attempting to install cacti 0.8.6c onto a 0.6.x database. To continue, you must create a new database, import 'cacti.sql' into it, and update 'include/config.php' to point to the new database.
What shall I do. I have tried to do some things but no luck. Is there a way to upgrade this database?
Thanks in advance.

Try the following query on the cacti database... Will get past the install problem, but you may have more issues.
Good luck,
Code: Select all
update version set cacti = '0.8.6c';

Problem fixed
Thanks for the response,
I have already solved the problem by doing the same thing.
I have edited the table "version" in the database and changed the value from 0.6.5 to 0.8.6c and the cacti was back and working fine. The only thing is that I lost the data for the time that cacti was down.
Thanks and regards.
