Hello, I need help updating my current version 0.8.8h to 1.1.38 on the Debian system.
I have no vast knowledge. I made several installation attempts, but I did not find any official tutorial.
Someone with wisdom would have as a linux apprentice help me.
I'll explain better.
I installed the default version.
I entered my server Via Putty,
"cd /usr/../cacti"
"wget https://www.cacti.net/downloads/cacti-1.1.38.tar.gz"
Extract the files.
When I try to change the files to the original folder there are errors that the folder does not exist.
Commands I used.
# cd /usr/share/cacti/cacti-1.1.38
# mkdir / usr / share / cacti / site / lib / adodb /
# mkdir / usr / share / cacti / site / resource
# rm / usr / share / cacti / site / resource
# cp /usr/share/cacti/cacti-1.1.38/* / usr / share / cacti / site /
# cp /usr/share/cacti/cacti-1.1.38/docs/html/* / usr / share / cacti / site / docs / html /
# cp /usr/share/cacti/cacti-1.1.38/images/* / usr / share / cacti / site / images /
# cp /usr/share/cacti/cacti-1.1.38/install/* / usr / share / cacti / site / install /
# cp /usr/share/cacti/cacti-1.1.38/lib/* / usr / share / cacti / site / lib /
# cp -Ru /usr/share/cacti/cacti-1.1.38/lib/adodb/* / usr / share / cacti / site / lib / adodb /
# cp -Ru /usr/share/cacti/cacti-.1.1.38/resource/* / usr / share / cacti / site /
# cp /usr/share/cacti/cacti-1.1.38/scripts/* / usr / share / cacti / site / scripts /
# cp -Ru / root / backup-cacti / site / scripts / * / usr / share / cacti / site / scripts /
# cp -Ru / root / backup-cacti / resource / * / usr / share / cacti / site / resource /
# rm /usr/share/cacti/cacti-1.1.38.tar.gz
# rm -R /usr/share/cacti/cacti-1.1.38
There is an easier way to do this update.

Re: Upgrade Cacti 0.8.8h for 1.1.38 Error
You say you have errors but you are not letting us know what they are. It's hard to correct what you are doing without knowing what the problem is. If you are wondering how to manually install cacti on debian, my wiki has some instructions which you can make work. Otherwise, if you are looking for a package installation, 1.1.38 is the latest in the debian-backports repository. However, there are plenty of fixes to upgrade from 0.8.8 to 1.2 (upcoming beta) that may correct some issues you are having.
