Hi,
I get a feeling this question is getting asked alot.
And i know that weathermap doesnt work (yet) inside the ui of cacti.
But can i use weathermap outside of cacti?
I tried the different php files inside weathermap plugin map.. but it is giving me errors.
I would like to know how to use weathermap as of now. Or alternatives.
i also followed the instructions on Github, but no result?
How to use weathermap next to cacti 1.1.x?

Re: How to use weathermap next to cacti 1.1.x?
0.98 (the release version) should work fine if you don't install the cacti plugin part.
Use the 'weathermap' command line tool. There's a section in the manual for how this works. Basically, you'd have a cron job that updates the maps. The command line tool takes an input map and produces an output image (and maybe html), so you would need one line per map, or a shell script with those lines, and one cron job that calls the shell script.
To use the github version, there are extra steps because it's not a release version - read the README. There is also a chance that it won't work, because it's still in development. The command-line part should be OK most of the time though. However, I'd stick with 0.98.

Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)
