Need help with Graphs template creation

Post by usmle4cati »

Hello guys,

I am trying to create/generate graphs reports (from interface) to check bandwidth utilization on my network devices.
On the attached file I have put 3 screenshots taken from the graphs that are generated, 1 graph is daily and it says that max traffic has been 30M, but on the weekly graph it didn't show the spike of 30M
The only way to see it on the weekly or monthly graph is by selecting the time-frame and going into the graph (than it will show the 30M bandwidth)

Is there any way how to show the same spikes I see on daily also into the weekly, monthly, yearly graph instead of requiring me to go into the graph and select the time?

Thanks in advance,

p.s: I am new in cacti so please try to describe and show it in easy steps and apologies me if will do other questions

RRDTool averages the data during consolidation. You don't state what version of Cacti you are using but based upon the Graph, its a CactiEZ box (and has my customized interface graph) so you are probably still on the 0.8.8 branch. You can change the consolidation to use Max instead of Average, but I don't recall how that would work out on 0.8.8 branch, as we on the 1.X branch we introduced Max of Average for GPrints.

You are perfectly right, I am on CactiEZ
I am new in all these stuff (even in linux) so I am using a customized and prebuilt that has everything in :D
p.s: great thanks to CactiEZ, and to your whole team that works and helps on it ;)

Any documentation about consolidating to use Max instead of Avarage?
Is that easy to go from 0.8.8 to 1.x branch?

Thanks again :D

wish you wonderfull day
