Traffic monitor issue

I am using ubantu system. i have installes cacti in that system.is possible suddenly traffic goes down in cacti graph in that case am i get any mail or sms etc any kind of notification so pls help me.....

You don't mention your Cacti version. In either case, try the Thold plugin.
