Changed Hostnames; still "Down"

Post by botfodder »

I am in the middle of working on planning upgrades from 0.8.8f to 1.1.19. I have a fair number of IPv6 only devices.

In 0.8.8f IPv6 devices needed "udp6:[v6:IP]" as the format. 1.1.19 (at least, without spine) prefers the "udp6:" to be left off. So I scripted the removal from the "host"s hostnames the prefix. Thing is, even after multiple attempts to rebuild the poller cache (both from CLI and web interface) and "rebuild snmp agent cache", the devices still report as "Down" until I go into the web interface and click "Save".

I'd like some quicker way to get the hosts working again after this scripted hostname change, if anyone has an idea. Apparently "Save" does some things (I have scanned the code a little but not enough to get a full handle on it) that aren't covered anywhere else.

Any ideas?
