Optical rx/tx power on 40G/100G transceivers

Post by Aoshi »

Hello,

Cacti 0.8.8b

I was wondering what the best way is to monitor receive and transmit power on multi-channel transceivers like for 40G/100G.
Obviously it would be the easiest if it would possible to select an interface and then choose like RX Power and data sources for each channel are created.

This would work great for example on Juniper devices:

1558 et-0/0/2
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.3.60.1.2.1.1.6.1558.0 = INTEGER: 213
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.3.60.1.2.1.1.6.1558.1 = INTEGER: 248
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.3.60.1.2.1.1.6.1558.2 = INTEGER: 125
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.3.60.1.2.1.1.6.1558.3 = INTEGER: 193

But not so easy on Ciena:
Id for a port for everything except optical power oid.20.0

id for optical power for the same port:
oid.20.1.0 = INTEGER: -22
oid.20.2.0 = INTEGER: -22
oid.20.3.0 = INTEGER: -20
oid.20.4.0 = INTEGER: -21

Are there any templates for this?
Does this need a script server?
Does this maybe already work in Cacti 1.1.x?

Or do I have to create a data source for each value by hand?
