Hello guys,
First time poster on the board. Just wanted to say that I love cacti so much as a grapher and wanted to finally upgrade to a newer version. I'm currently on Cacti 0.8h... I'm having a difficult guide to assist me in upgrading the program. I guess since the program has not been added to the respo I can't do a apt-get update then a apt-get upgrade to do an upgrade that way like I do for some other software. I do attempt to follow the guide but I have my cacti bin in /usr/share/cacti, my rra files in /var/lib/cacti/rra, and my debian.php in /etc/cacti. I'm a bit at a lose because I'm rather fresh/novice to linux so any help is appreciated if someone can work with me on this. Some things that I followed to get where I am.... Oh also, I upgraded from php 5.5 to php 7.0.17-1

Re: Help with upgrade to latest cacti
I also have a problem in upgrading cacti from 0.8.x to 1.x.x, my solution was install latest cacti and copy the rrd's and plugins.
Re: Help with upgrade to latest cacti
Hi athornfam2,
I assume you are wanting to upgrade to cacti 1.1.3? There are a couple of things you will have to do:
1. Get Apache and PHP 7 working successfully together (I recommend testing this on a separate environment and documenting the steps)
2. Download the latest cacti and upgrade
The upgrade process for Cacti is relatively easy. You just need to backup your current cacti, un-tar the new cacti, rename it then head to the web interface to upgrade the database. Simples!
What is your current situation exactly? Have you downloaded Cacti 1.1.3? Do you have PHP 7 and Apache working, or are you not sure?
