Official patches?

Post by jpersson »

I recently downloaded 1.1.0 and got it up and running and see that there is a new version out with changes that affects me.

There seem to be no more official patches. So what is the best route?

Just download latest tar.gz file and delete the old folder and put the new folder there? Of course save the information inside config.php for database username and password.

Is that all or will this break something and is this a good best way of thing?

Easiest way is to just override the old files with the new. Most people those create a new folder including the version number, and then symlink a cacti folder to it.

You really don't want to just delete the old folder, since depending on your setup, may have your RRAs and scripts all saved inside of it.

Thanks for the help cigamit. Makes sense to use symlinks and keep the old ones.
