I am conducting the following investigation on the installation requirement of cacti now.
1. Is it compatible with Oracle Linux (UEK kernel)?
2. Is it compatible with installing to a virtual machine?
I would like you to tell me if anyone knows about them.

Re: About installation requirements of cacti
I can answer for the point 2:
Yes but !
I have 2 Cacti server on the same physical server, and I do have some trouble when I pool my device, I can't figure out if it's a Disk problem or device.
But as long as I have only one cacti working at time, it work like if it was on a physical server no difference.
For point 1 I think the only problem will be the syntax of SQL query who can differ from Oracle to mysql.
