Cacti and Gmail for Work

Post by Jeremiah1981 »

Cacti Version: 0.8.8a
Cacti OS: unix
PHP Version: 5.3.10-1ubuntu3.24
PHP OS: Linux

I am having some issues getting my cacti set up to send notifications from my gmail account. I am currently switching from a hosted exchange to Gmail for work. I have poured through the correct settings on the forums and on the web and am still coming up empty, and I was hoping for some help on the issue I am having.

I set up the mail with our gmail account for the cacti notifications. And I have created the email address and the password and put that as the authentication options in cacti:

Method: SMTP
Host: ssl://smtp.gmail.com
Port: 465
Authenication: true
Username: cactithresholds at domain dot com
Password: (Not Shown for Security Reasons)

And this works when I send the test message. I get the above in an email. But when the notifications are sent, they don't come through. I can change the settings back to the previous settings and the emails begin again.

But here is the odd part. The test email is relayed from a different IP address than the notifications email, and the test email is marked in the email properties as not spam, where the notification email is marked as spam

Test Email:

X-Spam-Flag: NO
X-Spam-Score: 2.398
X-Spam-Level: **

Notification Email:

X-Spam-Flag: YES
X-Spam-Score: 16.03
X-Spam-Level: ****************

I am banging my head against the wall. I have allowed my IP address and relay in Gmail, and at a glance, everything looks correct, and seems to work when tested...until the notifications start, and I am at a loss as to why it isn't working.

Any ideas? What else can I check
