SPINE: Poller[0] FATAL: MySQL Error:'2013'

Hi All,
I'm using cacti 0.8.8c with mysql 5.5.40 and php 5.5.19, it's running on a virtual machine. At first my cacti kept reporting error like these when I added over 300 devices:

So I edited the spine parameter to this now:

There are also error 2006 like

this errors are not happening at every polling(5 mins) though.

I've read a few posts on this forum and increased the max_connection and max_allowed_packet in my.cnf but error still persists.. I've run spine -R -S 2 times but see no problem,could you help me out? Thanks
