Using cacti for a client portal

Post by ponnuki »

Hi there,

I use cacti for our small local not for profit isp so that we can track our data usage. We have about 200 members connecting trough the network. It's a cable isp and I was wondering if cacti can be use as a client portal to check their usage?

We have all the mac address for each modem that we have installed, then we could create an account for each member and create a view of only their modem.

Is that at all possible? Is Cacti the right tool or there are other tools out there that are meant to do that?

Thank you! Cacti is an awesome tool!

I have a plugin that may do what you want. It replaces the internal graph export with a more robust version that creates a client portal on another server with their exported graphs. I wrote it for a friend of mine who uses it at his ISP. I haven't updated it in a very long time, so I am not sure if it works with the latest Cacti. I will test it out sometime this week, send me a PM to remind me if I don't get back with you.
