cacti on a ubuntu server virtualized

Post by jejeman »

Hello,

I have a dedicated server on goDaddy (in reality it is a virtualized server with CPU, RAM and HDD reserved)
I set up the server with no errors, but I can't graph network interface
I had tried a network interface statistics in verbose mode and it said :

Code: Select all

+ Running data query [1].
+ Found type = '3' [SNMP Query].
+ Found data query XML file at '/usr/share/cacti/site/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.
+ Executing SNMP get for num of indexes @ '.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.1.0' Index Count:
+ Executing SNMP walk for list of indexes @ '.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1' Index Count: 0
+ No SNMP data returned
Do you think that can be due to the virtualized server ?
thank you

Your not really giving much of anything to go off of.

Did you install and setup SNMP on the server? Can you do an snmpwalk against the server? Does it have a firewall that is stopping you from accessing the server?

Thank you for your response and sorry for may late answer...
Yes I have snmp installed on the server, and yes I can launch a snmpwalk with no error.
There is no firewall rules for local.

Is SeLinux enabled ? It may prevent Apache to do network related tasks.
