OK, I have searched this site, and Googled, but still found nothing that can help.
I am trying to use Cacti to analyse some network instability. As such, I have it installed on my NAS and I want to check stability by pinging three different hosts : the default gateway (cabled), a printer (wireless) and an Internet site (Internet connectivity)
The first two cause no trouble at all, but whatever external site I chosse, I get "ICMP ping Timed out". I have checked the logs, nothing gives any indication there.
I have run the perl script manually from the command line and it works just fine. Have done the same for one of my other hosts and the results are the same. So in other words, a copy/paste of the poller cmd works
Can someone please help ? Happy to provide more info if required
TIA
Issue with ping to external host
