How could I monitor a port?

Post by vicmac »

This is the thing, we have different web servers in different locations. We have graphs by regions. So, we have this three web servers being graphed together. We are monitoring eth1 to have an idea of the traffic on those servers. Now one of this servers has become the head of the VPN for that location, and it still being a web server. This set up made a huge increased on cacti (as you may imagine). We see something like this:

So, how could I graph certain ports? Like port 80 and 443?

Use Apache Stats on your servers instead?

Otherwise you'd probably need to consider harvesting statistics from netflow.
