Hi,
I have recently started using Snmp-agent plugin available only through "sourceforge" and I have a few questions:
1. Why isn't this plugin available through Cacti?
2. This plugin requires updates to some of Cacti's php files. If a newer version of Cacti is released then how is the plugin to work if its not officially supported\updated. Wasn't there other possible ways to develop the plugin so installation follows the Cacti plugin support and not break when a newer Cacti version is installed?
Credit to it's developers and hope to see it officially supported!
Kind Regards,
Snmpagent support when installing newer Cacti versions

Re: Snmpagent support when installing newer Cacti versions
The plugin is already built into the next major release of Cacti (as are a lot of current plugins). It will cease being a plugin, and instead will be part of the core.

Hi cigamit,
When would be the next release date?

Re: Snmpagent support when installing newer Cacti versions
Patches are only required if you would like to run the SNMPagent plugin in combination with Cacti 0.8.8a or 0.8.8b.
Newer versions ( 0.8.8c and above ) are already containing all of those hooks the SNMPAgent is working with.
Like Jimmy already has mentioned the plugin itself became part of the Cacti core and will become available automatically with Cacti 1.0.
Nevertheless I fixed both bugs and rewrote the persistent daemon -> performance increase of more than 3200% while memory consumption decreased by 50%.
The new version perfectly runs under Linux, but tests under Windows are still missing.
Release will be until the 28/Oct/2015.
