[solved] windows installer snmp error

Post by damac77 »

I have installed the new installer on a windows 7 64bit
everything is fine except I get snmp error when adding a device

the cacti log shows this
CMDPHP: Poller[0] WARNING: SNMP Get Timeout for Host:'localhost', and OID:'.1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0'

and the snmpd log shows this
Warning: no access control information configured.
It's unlikely this agent can serve any useful purpose in this state.
Run "snmpconf -g basic_setup" to help you configure the snmpd.conf file for this agent.
NET-SNMP version 5.5

after the install am I supposed to configure the net-snmp with this command?
snmpconf -g basic_setup

if so then the installer does not install a version perl to configure the net-snmp program

so after configuring the basic snmp I know see snmp information
but following the setting up graphs part of the install doc, I do not see the disk drives or the network interfaces to add to create my first graph

I would highly recommend using the native microsoft snmp agent instead of net-snmp.

did you add the snmp interface and mounted partition Associated Data Queries to the device?
